What Is a Face Workout? Everything You Need to Know

You go to the gym for your body. You follow a skincare routine for your skin. But your face — the 40+ muscles underneath the skin that determine how it lifts, defines, and ages — most people train those zero times in their life.
That's the gap WAJH was built to close. Here's everything you need to know about what a face workout actually is, how it works, and why it's become the fastest-growing wellness category in Kuwait.
What Is a Face Workout?
A face workout is exactly what it sounds like: structured, targeted training for the muscles of the face, jaw, and neck. It applies the same principle as body training — activate the right muscles, consistently, with the right technique — to produce visible results in the face.
A face workout is not a facial. A traditional facial works on the skin's surface — cleansing, exfoliating, masking, moisturising. It's a skin treatment. A face workout works on the muscles beneath the skin. It's a structural treatment. The two do entirely different things.
Think of it this way: a body massage improves circulation and relaxes muscles, but it doesn't build definition the way training does. The same logic applies to the face.
What Happens During a Face Workout at WAJH?
Every session at WAJH is different depending on the goal. But all workouts combine elements of three core disciplines:
Facial muscle training. Using manual pressure, resistance, and targeted techniques, your coach activates specific muscle groups in the face and neck. The masseter for jaw definition. The zygomaticus for cheek lift. The platysma for neck tone. These are real muscles with real training responses — they get stronger, more toned, and more active with consistent work.
Lymphatic drainage. The lymphatic system runs throughout the face and neck and is responsible for clearing excess fluid, toxins, and inflammatory waste from the tissue. When it's sluggish, the face looks puffy, heavy, and undefined. Manual lymphatic drainage — precise, rhythmic pressure along the drainage pathways — moves that fluid and is responsible for the immediate visible de-puffing effect most clients notice in-session.
Tension release. Chronic jaw clenching, screen posture, and stress create tension patterns in the face and neck that pull features downward and create a heavy, tired look. Release work — targeting the suboccipital muscles, the jaw, and the cervical neck — decompresses these patterns and often lifts the appearance of the face without touching the face at all.
The Six WAJH Workouts
HIIT — 30 min
The signature WAJH workout. Activates dormant facial muscles, boosts circulation, and sculpts natural definition. The starting point for most new clients.
HIIT+ — 50 min
Advanced muscle activation combining facial training with targeted EMS (electrical muscle stimulation). For lifting, contouring, and event-ready definition.
DRAIN — 30 min
Facial lymphatic drainage workout. Drains fluid retention, reduces puffiness, and restores natural symmetry. Best for cortisol face, morning swelling, and hormonal puffiness.
DRAIN+ — 50 min
Enhanced lymphatic reset with contour technology, EMS and light therapy. Deep detox, de-puffing, and sculpting in one session.
ACTIVATE — 30 min
Focused training for the jaw, cheeks, and neck. Sharpens the jawline, slims the lower face, and drains facial bloating. Best for jawline definition and double chin area.
POSTURE FIX — 30 min
Releases the neck, jaw, and upper body tension that creates “phone face”. Decompresses, improves circulation, and restores posture that naturally lifts the face.
What Results Can You Expect?
Results depend on the goal, but clients at WAJH typically notice:
• In-session: visible de-puffing, a brighter look, and a sense of lightness in the face and jaw
• After 4–6 sessions: improved tone, more defined features, better lymphatic efficiency
• After consistent training: structural change in the muscle tone of the lower face, and a lymphatic system that drains more efficiently on its own
The key word is consistent. One session produces visible immediate results. Long-term structural change — the kind that doesn't reset when you stop — comes from training over time, exactly as it does for the body.
How Often Should You Train?
For most clients, one to two sessions per week produces compounding results without over-training. Our membership plans are built around this cadence — 3, 4, 6, or 8 sessions per month depending on your goals and schedule.
If you're coming up to an event — a wedding, a photoshoot, travel — two to three DRAIN sessions in the week before typically produces the most dramatic visible result in the shortest timeframe.
Is It Right for Me?
WAJH is for anyone who wants to take their face as seriously as they take the rest of their health. You don't need a specific concern — most clients come with a combination of goals, from puffiness to jawline definition to tech neck to simply wanting to look and feel better in their face.
If you've tried injectables and aren't happy with the results, or if you're looking for a sustainable alternative that improves with time rather than dissolving, face training is worth exploring. If you're already doing skincare and nutrition and want to add the missing layer — this is it.
